On April 29th 2023, Liaoning General Aviation Academy(LGAA) and Volar Aerospace Ltd. (HK) signed a cooperation agreement in Shenyang, which lauched both the airworthiness certification and marketing in oversea territories forRhyxeon series electric aircraft developed by LGAA independently.
After signed the agreement, Mr. Zhao Tienan, deputy president of LGAA, appreciated Volar for its faith on green aviation and supports to Rhyxeon electric aircraft as well as LGAA.This formal agreement marks the first substantive step of the two parties' longterm cooperation in the future. LGAA believes that the strategic cooperation achieved by both parties will effectively promote Made-in-China electric aircraft to the world and also become a strong driver to the development of green aviation.
With the signing, Mr. Li Songxi, co-founder of Volar, and Mr. Henry Hooi, founder and Chairman ofVolar, jointly expressed their high expectations to green aviation and LGAA’sRhyxeonelectric aircraft, believing that signing the agreement will become an important milestone in the cooperation and establish the foundation for further and deeper cooperation in near future. As Mr. Hooi said,Volar will also be deeply involved in the follow-up R&D for upcoming bigger electric aircraft and even Hydrogen aircraft, and build up an international R&D team as well as an ecosystem of green aviation.
Volar Aerospace Ltd. (HK) is a startup company committed to green air operation, aiming to bring a brand-new air transportation ecosystem using electric aircraft, zero-emission and much lower cost, to all regions with underdeveloped transportation infrastructures in the worldand Southeast Asia will be the first target market as there are many islands and the regular transportation relies on ships dominantly.
So far, the connections with local authorities for airworthiness approval of electric aircraft in many countries have been established with Volar’s great efforts. Many scenarios of operating electric aircraft were discussed and will be expanded quickly to make the green aviation operation happen asap.
TheRhyxeon series electric aircraft developed by LGAA includes existing two-seater RX1E-A, two-seat seaplane RX1E-S, four-seater RX4E, and other in-planning variants using different types of energy like Hydrogen. Both the two-seaters were type certificated by CAAC in 2018 and 2021 respectively while the four-seat aircraft is in the process of TC approval and expected to be the first electric normal aircraft type-certificated under Part 23.
With the agreement as the start, LGAA and Volar will jointly conduct more in-depth complementary cooperation in the R&D of new aircraft such as electric and Hydrogen aircraft with more seats and longer range, and related technologies in coming years. The common target is to make green air travel success, so that the more environment-friendly, efficient, fast and safe air traffic will become the regular life of people.
